Brizgalice, Špric Machines, Plastic Presses: a Serbian Molding Glossary

On Serbian shop floors, the same machine goes by at least three names. Some ask for a "mašina za brizganje", some for a "brizgalica", senior technicians for a "špric mašina", and classified ads offer a "presa za plastiku". Everyone understands each other in person — but online and in documentation the variety causes confusion. If you work with Serbian partners or suppliers, here is how the local terms map to standard terminology.

Mašina za brizganje = brizgalica = špric mašina

All three mean the same equipment: the injection molding machine. "Mašina za brizganje plastike" is the standard technical term. "Brizgalica" is everyday workshop language. "Špric mašina" is a legacy of the German Spritzgießmaschine, from the era when equipment mostly arrived from Germany and Austria. "Presa za plastiku" (plastic press) is the least precise — technically a press is a different machine — but it is routinely used in ads for molding machines.

Temperirni uređaj = temperirka

The device that keeps the mold at set temperature with water or oil. Shops say "temperirka"; documentation says "temperirni uređaj" (German Temperiergerät, English temperature control unit / TCU). Tool-Temp range: temperature control units.

Čiler = industrial chiller

The English word "chiller" has fully entered Serbian as "čiler" (often typed "ciler" without the diacritic). Cooling range: industrial chillers.

Sušara, dozer and the rest of the periphery

"Sušara" covers both hot-air dryers and dehumidifying dryers. "Dozer" is a feeder adding masterbatch or additives, volumetric or gravimetric. There is also "usisivač granulata" (hopper loader), "mlin"/"drobilica" (granulator) and "meljava"/"regranulat" (regrind). Range: drying and dosing equipment.

Topli kanali = hot runners

The heated manifold system keeping material molten up to the gate; both "topli" and "vrući" kanali appear in Serbian, alongside the English "hot runner". The controlling device is a hot runner controller. S.I.S.E. range: hot runner controllers.
